HYDERABAD: The width of the regional ring road (RRR), proposed on the lines of the outer ring road by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), will be revised to about 90 to 100 metres (300 feet). Earlier, the HMDA had proposed the width of the RRR as 60 metres (200 ft) in the draft master plan for the HMDA extended area (newly included areas).
The increase in the width means the Authority would have to acquire more land. The RRR works will be taken up after completion of the ORR. The HMDA had acquired land from about 7,000 farmers for the 150-metre (500 ft) ORR, which is nearing completion. Read more
