Chikkaballapur : The CPM will stage a day-long protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office to press for the implementation of the Paramashivaiah report on providing permanent irrigation to Chikkaballapur and Kolar districts, said CPM State Secretary G V Srirama Reddy. The protest is part of a 10 year-old agitation on the issue of water supply.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, he said the intention was to hold pro-people agitations to pressure the government to act on planned water projects, but admitted that a few people were oppossed to the long-term agitation. Read more
