PANCHKULA: Panchkula will soon stand tall. Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) proposes to build a 20 to 22 storey building - which will be the tallest in Tricity -- in Sector 3, here. It will not only house the HUDA offices, but also provide a bird's-eye view of the city. Inspired by the skyscrapers in the US, Hong Kong and Dubai, the building's plans will be finalized in another three months.
"The proposal was put forth some time back. We are working on the plans that will take three more months. Rest everything has been decided... the building will come up soon," said HUDA superintending engineer N K Verma. So how did the idea germinate? "We wanted to have an iconic building with a unique design for HUDA, as the authority plays an important role in the development of the city," he added. Read more
