Mumbai : It seems the ambitious Dharavi Redevelopment Plan (DRP) of the state government will finally see the light of day as the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada) on Friday finalised bids for the project. Premnath Group was selected as the project management consultant (PMC), while BG Shirke Construction will construct 330 tenements in the first phase of the redevelopment of Sector 5 in Dharavi, Asia’s second-largest slum.
Talking to DNA, Satish Gavai, vice-president of Mhada, said that financial bids were opened and the lowest bids were awarded tasks as per the terms and conditions of the tenders. The final work order will be issued in the first week of August and from September 1, work will begin on the project. Read more
