MANGALORE: Karnataka is all set to tap the potential of west-flowing rivers in its three coastal districts - Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada- with the state government according administrative sanction to the 'Paschima Vahini' project.
Deputy speaker N Yogish Bhat said CM had given suitable instructions to utilize funds set aside for major irrigation projects across Karnataka for the project. There are five west-flowing rivers in Dakshina Kannada, 13 in Udupi and five in Uttara Kannada. The total availability of water in these rivers is calculated at 1480tmc. Read more
