Bangalore : City-based NGO Wakf Protection Committee will launch a state-wide awareness campaign to protect Wakf properties from being encroached upon by politicians and leaders of the Muslim community.
The committee members claimed that Wakf properties situated in prime urban areas of the state were worth around Rs 2.5 lakh crore. They point out that income generated from these properties would be sufficient to provide education and improve the economic status of the entire Muslim community in the state. Read more
