Bangalore : The Legislative Assembly on Wednesday approved the Karnataka Compulsory Service Training by Candidates Completed Medical Courses Bill, 2012, which makes one-year rural service compulsory for medicos in the State.
Medical Education Minister S A Ramdas, who piloted the bill, said the government has decided to give immediate effect to the proposed legislation as it will help to solve the problem of shortage of doctors, especially specialists, in the government hospitals in rural areas. Read more
