Jaipur: Though there has been a marginal increase in numbers of patients admitted in government hospitals between 2004 and 2011, the out of pocket expenditure (OoPE) of patients in Rajasthan has witnessed over 100% rise. The OoPE accounts for increase in poverty for any state or country.
Prayas, an NGO, conducted a health survey in 2011 in five states — Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttrakhand, Jharkhand and Assam. The figures were compared with the National Sample Survey Organisation’s (NSSO) 60th round survey of 2004. Read more
