Mumbai : The government has decided to legalise pavement dwellers who have been living on footpaths since before 1995 and to rehabilitate them in different parts of the city under the Slum Rehabilitation Authority’s (SRA) schemes.
The state’s move is aimed at widening and strengthening pavements, enhancing the flow of traffic and ensuring motorists as well as pedestrians’ safety. Read more
