Thane (PTI) : Maharashtra EGS Minister Nitin Raut today said Bihar pattern of foodgrain cultivation should be extended to Konkan division to boost farm income. Under the Bihar pattern, entire family of a farmer carries out cultivation and the produce is sold in market. As a result, the family members get employment and their produce fetch market price, he said here.This way, grass and fodder also remain with the family and they can also be sold in the market at a good price, the Minister said.
Raut was addressing a news conference after reviewing works undertaken under the rural employment guarantee scheme (MGNREGA) in the coastal Konkan division which consists of Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts. Read more
