RANCHI: Chaos reigned near the Xavier's Institute of Social Services (XISS) and the neighbouring St Xavier's College campuses on Wednesday as the students got into an argument with traffic constables who were fining their vehicles in the no parking area outside the campus. The students park their bikes and cars on the bylane opposite the college, which is a no parking zone. On a drive to streamline traffic and reduce congestion, the constables fined the bikes, thereby angering students, who got into a verbal scuffle with the constables.
Traffic DSP R N Singh said: "The students need to understand the importance of rules and they should follow them. If vehicles are parked in a no parking zone we will definitely fine their owners. The students should understand that these rules are not for our personal benefit but the convenience of the public." Read more
