BANGALORE: The country's lead temp staffing outfit, TeamLease Services, is planning to set up an university exclusively for vocational education. While the one planned in Gujarat has made the most progress, similar institutions in other states like Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Orissa, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh are also envisaged.
The Gujarat university will be incorporated as a private university. A memorandum of understanding has already been singed between TeamLease and state government. The university proposal has also received the final letter of intent from the state. However, a final legislature clearance is awaited, which is expected post-elections in the state. Read more
