India is far behind in terms of high-speed internet service. Now the Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) is launching three communication satellites- GSAT-19, GSAT-11 and GSAT-20 which will aim to bring India under High-Speed Internet umbrella. These satellites will be launching within 18months.
The first satellite to be launched will be GSAT-19 and it will be launched by GSLVMK III which is ISRO's next generation launch vehicle.
A GSAT satellite can support 1GBPS data transfer which means the GSAT-19 will be able to transfer data at around 4GBPS making it equivalent to four satellites.
The other two satellites GSAT-11 and GSAT-20 will be launched in the year 2018. GSAT-11 will be launched in January 2018 and will have the data speed of 14GBPS while GSAT 20 will be launched by end of 2018.
Internet speed in India is lagging far behind. It's high time we should also have High speed internet as other countries are having the speed of 1GBPS but we are still happy with 10, 20 aur 50Mbps Internet speed. ISRO has taken a major step in bringing true high speed internet in India.
