Major Gogoi, who tied kashmiri man to jeep in J&K honoured.

Major Leetul Gogoi who was in the news recently in the Human shield row, for tying a man to the bonnet of a jeep as a 'shield' against stone pelting mob in Jammu and Kashmir was honoured with army chief’s commendation card.

Army spokesperson Colonel Aman Anand said in the interview that Major Gogoi has been awarded the Chief of Army Staff’s Commendation (COAS) card for “sustained efforts in CI (counter insurgency) operations.”

Major Leetul Gogoi of 53 Rashtriya Rifles was in news after a video surfaced during Srinager Lok Sabha by poll and was posted on social media in which a kashmiri man was tied on the bonnet of army jeep. The video sparked controversy with some people criticising the army's action while majorty of people praised the army action.  

Our Take:
We owe everything to our Armed forces. It's just because of Officer like Major Gogoi that we feel safe today. Brave officer like Major Gogoi should definitely be awarded for their effort and duty.
